Squishy's Trading Guide
This guide assumes you have read the Trading page, know how to get your xp and have excites or penos available. (Calculate here).
There are many places to do shopping/trading but 3 areas that have npc stores on both sides will give you the fastest/most trading xp. Jiroka-Hevalus doesn't have npc stores but gives you the most speed xp, so if you don't mind clicking a few more times you can get trade xp as well.
Table below compares them, each town location links to its respective npc store. XP given is for one way.

General tips for trading
- Don't carry too many gold coins or whatever you're using at a time
- Careful not to click 'Sell all'
- Carry just enough items to easily click on your item to sell without scrolling about
- Disable chat if you can't type fast enough within 15s XD
Essdar-Rissdra
Buying an item is faster than selling, so if you have the vessi, buy cooked mackerels and lumber. Alternatively, sell gold coins or fishing rods at Essdar and buy lumber at Rissdra. If your trading lvl is 18 and above, you can sell fishing rods for 13v instead of 12v. Gold coins are commonly available at guild shops.

Barin-Baron
Personally don't quite like sailing back and forth due to large amounts of clicking. But if you like water cards... Trading level 28 and above allows you to buy 19v feathers and 6v empty bottles one at a time. Junk shop also buys a bunch of well.. junk yeah. With a good boat, you will need the least excites if any at all.
Tropi-Eptile
Great for Elves. Buy iron ores from Tropi and sell gold coins at Eptile. Best speed xp between 2 npc stores. Try not to buy the cards by accident =P
Jiroka-Hevalus
You'll have to do some self-research what to buy or sell here but this is the best place for speed xp usually, not really for those looking for trade xp.
