Analysis – Last year the penguins lost when Crosby did not get two points. Will that happen this year?

Game #1 Crosby had +15% ice time but his shots were down 33%. Repeat Detroit wins. Crosby claimed his poor performance was because last year's Conn Smythe winner, Hank Zetterberg was “head hunting” him.

Game #2 Crosby's Ice time was down almost 10% but again his shots were down, this time by 15%.
Note on Malkin – Malkin had Pittsburgh’s lone tally on the power play. The frustrated star picked up a fighting, an instigator, and a misconduct penalty after he tossed punches at Zetterberg with 18.9 seconds left in the game.

Game #3 Special teams won it. Pittsburgh's Power Play scored twice...but where was Sidney? He was on home ice and played a great portion of the game against Detroit's 4th line. His playing time was up 15% over last year and while he got an assist, he is now -2 on the +/-. His shots were steady at a disappointing 3 shots.
