This idea serves 6 purposes:
1.) This gives a Rancher skill.
2.) This also allows for more food products to be produced, for example: pork chops, bacon, raw beef, steak, chicken, eggs, omelets, etc.
3.) This produces a new set of buildings for construction skill, such as: Barns, pig pens, cow pens, chicken coops, horse stalls, grain houses etc…
4.) This provides another thing through which harvesting could benefit by growing food for animals.
5.) This gives the guilds new reliable food sources in addition to fish and harvested items.
6.) This would help produce a wider movoda world, without inhibiting any of the other skills.

Explanation:
The idea basically would allow for the production of more food products, and a new skill that would probably work closest with the harvesting and cooking skills (in the way that the cooking and combat skills work with the fishing skill). I propose that this food would take a bit of work, but have different beneficial ways then as most just for combat food. Having the extra burden of having to breed these animals, I would say make it take 1 day to produce eggs after breeding 1 ½ days to produce chicks, 2 days to produce a pig, 3 days to produce a cow, and 5 days to produce a horse. These animals (explained below) would serve various purposes and assist in several skills. The food produced to keep the animals going (breeding and working (not sure if death from not eating is a legitimate idea – after all it’s not the real world)). But this food would be harvested just like any other. The breeding rates could be worked out through trial and error, but make it so the more valuable the animal the less likely then others to take the first few tries of breeding.

Breeding Scale:
Allow the breeding of the different animals until it takes (this gives experience to skill even if the animal doesn’t become pregnant) once an animal is pregnant it can’t be bred until it has produced a baby (duh). Males could be born like every 5 to 10 animals to make it easier to breed. The timer should probably be higher for this than with most skills.

• 1 day to produce eggs after breeding success (60 seconds per attempt), which would turn into chicks after a day and a half: Eggs, chicken feathers, beaks, and chicken claws to be used in crafting. Ranching Skill required: 0

• 2 days to produce pigs (80 seconds per attempt): Pork, bacon, ham, etc…From the boar tusks to be used in crafting. Ranching Skill required: 3

• 3 days to produce a Cow (100 seconds per attempt): From which you could obtain milk (to produce cheese, and use in other recipes), I’d say 100 raw beef to be cooked into steaks and cubes for stews. From the bull you get leather and horns to be used in crafting. Ranching Skill required: 10

• 5 days to produce a horse (200 seconds per attempt): which could be used in various skills, make it pull a wagon and give extra carrying capacity, raise it into a battle steed (give +speed and +defense), plow fields (give -time planting time). Ranching Skill required: 20

Experience:
• Experience would be gained from the breeding and feeding process, as well as the collecting of the meat/skin/claws/feathers gained after slaughtering the cow/chicken/pig, much like you gain combat drops and harvest.

• Also, there could be xp earned through training the horse for whatever purposes it serves, a work horse (hauling items like wagons and plows) or a combat horse.

• The milking process however should probably require a harvester of some skill level, it would be sort of like filling glass bottles, it would require a milking pale (which would have to be smithed probably best out of aluminum) equipped and glass bottles to fill.
