Soaring
With the beating of its wings
It rose above the ground
From on high it could see all things
As it circled round and round
He was the master of the sky
All the others knew him well
Oft alone did he so fly
With thoughts that none could tell
His sharp eyes could detect his prey
From miles across the earth
He would dive swift as a ray
A calling of his birth
He was an expert at his art
A skill learned o’er many a year
With precision he could start
And finish without a fear
The eagle cried his lonely call
The lord of all the air
Another from the sky did fall
And soon they were a pair
At last he did so have a mate
That could bear for him a son
A bright future they could create
Knowing his blood line would go on
