Experience Gains

Mining can be done at Droesar when starting off as a miner. Here is the info on each ore that can be mined in Movoda. Refer to the table in the next section below for levels required.

Also, you may find other types of ores or gems as a bonus when mining.
Gem finding can be boosted by wearing certain equipment or eating certain foods. The maximum effective gem finding level is +50, so that increasing it beyond that point has no effect.

Silver is dropped when mining Titanium, Mythral, Adamantite, Duranium, Nelgite, Hexamine, Unixide and Trinite Ores
Gold is dropped when mining Duranium, Nelgite, Trinite, Unixide Ores, Hexamine in Deep mines at Essrom and when mining Coal at Zhyack
Copper and Tin at Zhyack gives you 12/8/6 Skill/Char/Guild xp.
Bauxite at Zhyack gives you 30/12/15 Skill/Char/Guild xp.
Coal at Zhyack gives you 68/25/34 Skill/Char/Guild xp
Hexamine at Essrom (Deep Mines) gives you 85/30/?? Skill/Char/Guild xp

New players will only be able to Mine in Droesar. Once you have a Character Level of 10+ you can then venture out to the Mainlands.

Notes:

Tin and Copper in Cardina Valley can not be seen unless “Sebestian's Problem” quest shows 'Finished & Tin and Copper mines available'.
Adamantite can be mined by all nationalities.
Zhyack is now available for those who like to do combat while mining. You will be attacked by Cavelurk, Grue, White Bat, Giant Black Bat, and Baby Dragon while mining Copper or Tin. You will be attacked by Cave Goblin, Hobgoblin and Minotaur while mining Bauxite or Coal. You also have a chance at getting 3 ores per dig with Copper and Tin, up to 2 ores per dig with Bauxite and up to 4 ores per dig with Coal.

Re: Gems – Which gems drop is mainly determined by the location/ore you are mining at, certain gems are much more common than others in certain areas. Drop frequency is just affected by the +gem finding modifier, not mining level.

I see the logic of this. Your chance of finding gems does not increase with more advanced sites, but the quality of the gems improves as you move on from Droesar to more advanced sites. So your advanced mining levels allows the option of getting better gems by using advanced sites. So someone mining Copper in Droesar has the same chance of finding a gem as someone mining Mythral at Naton, but the person mining Mythral can get an Opal while the person mining Copper can get a Turquoise. – Beorn
