Sawing:

Sawmills

Logs can be sawed at any level and yield 1 lumber and 10 construction experience
Hardwood Logs require construction level 20 to saw and yield 2 lumber and 15 construction experience
Higher level sawmills offer better sawing times but in exchange for less character experience
You rarely find Ambers while sawing either logs or hardwood logs

The Base Time is the time taken to saw a hardwood log at construction level 20,
when the sawmill is used by one person only, and with no item or magic
enhancements.

Galawi
This may be the first sawmill you encounter. Random attacks occur when sawing hardwood if Glazed Swordfish are consumed.

Martral
This is similar to Galawi, but has a lower base time (i.e., faster). It's the same speed as a level 3 guild sawmill.

Awaru
This sawmill is accessable only by faldorians and neutrals with at least construction level 10. It seems to be a slower than Martral but faster than Galawi. You can only saw logs here for 5 character experience. As a bonus you receive 1 chipwood every few logs sawed. There is no hardwood option.

Hikori
This is an erfdarian only sawmill. Here you can saw 2 logs into 2 lumber for 20 construction experience and 10 character experience at a time. However the timer is about twice as long as for other sawmills. Minimum time is 15 seconds. There is no hardwood option.

Guild
Your guild compound may contain its own sawmill(s). Guild sawmills are similar to the Galawi and Martral sawmills and have various speeds and character xp.

Houses:

You need 100 Vessi to buy the land then you can add the required lumber to build the house.

You don't need to have the whole amount at the start and you can add as much lumber as you wish at a time even one by one.

Building houses gives no Character Experience.

Construction Time = lumber used * 0.4 seconds (minimum 15)
When building a house, you get 0.2 Exp per lumber used in its construction, as shown below. This works out at 0.5 Construction Experience per second.

All houses cost 100V no matter where you build them, so the cost column shows how much it would cost if you were to buy the required lumber from the wood shop at Rissdra to build each house. This should help you determine the relative value of houses up for sale and spot those that are overpriced. Obviously, houses larger than 25,000 stone may go for more than their lumber value alone due to supply being smaller.

Shelving:

In addition to building houses a constructor can also make shelves to add to a houses total capacity.
You need the original houses required level to build it + 15 more construction levels to shelve it.
A house may only hold up to 150% of its original size with shelving.
You gain skill experience based upon your skill level. (See the Chart Below.) You also receive 5 character experience for any shelf, no matter the size of the house.
Minimum time to shelve is 30s.

Boats:

Boats can be built at the Shipyards in Ferboi or Kimdar.
There will also be a 100 vessi licensing fee before you can start construction.

Warning: When choosing a boat remember that the ferry is a Speed 5 boat, so a Speed 2 Boat is 40% of its speed. And the ferry is very slow in the first place.

Boats are like houses that move; the capacity of a boat is what can be stored there and is not connected to how much you can hold while moving in it.

Weapons:

Catapults can be made by Odtoni constructors at the Siegeworks at Ravel:

Level REQ. Item Materials Needed Skill EXP

Equipment:

Optional equipment gives time advantages. Note that there are two types of construction bonuses: Sawmill Time helps when sawing logs and Construction Time is for all other tasks.

Level Req. = level needed of the highest constructor in the Guild to be able to build the building.
Size = Number of stones in weight that the building can hold.
Exp = Total Exp given to Constructors.

Also please note that Stone blocks are worth about twice the amount that Lumber is worth.

Guild Compound

(guild level 5 needed)

Not really a building but where buildings can be built, there is a max of 3 of these per town and each guild can only build one. Traditionally any guild could claim a compound from the Guild Stuff panel, if any were available, paying a fee of 500 Vessi. However with the introduction of the New Interface, a new system has been introduced for competing with other guilds, see Guild Compound for more information.

Note: the number of alliances is with a single HQ. Additional HQs don't necessarily add the same number of additional slots. How it works exactly is unknown.

* A level 1 and a level 5 HQ gives 6 alliances.
* 2 level 3s gives 6 alliances.
* 2 level 3s and a level 4 gives 8 alliances.
* A level 1 and 2 level 5s gives 8 alliances.
* 2 level 5s, a level 4 and 2 level 1s gives 11 alliances.
* 2 level 5s and a level 4 gives 9 alliances.

Joh (http://movoda.net/man/Joh) has the theory of the 2 lowest value HQs + half the value of every HQ = the total amount of alliances.
For example two level 3s and a level 4 gives 8 alliances. 6 from the two level threes and 2 from the level 4. This theory seems to come true for all except the final two which should (by my theory) have 9 and 11 alliances respectively.

brineweed says that's interesting Joh, but it's closer to the full value of the lowest level HQ plus half the value of the rest. It's still not exact, but it's never out by more than 1.

brineweed says here's a theory that works exactly. Take the normal value for the highest level HQ, and adjusted values for the rest: 1 for a level 1 and 2 for a level 3, 4, or 5. Would like more data to confirm or reject, and some data for the level 2 HQ.

brineweed says but somebody sent me a quote from mskwik, which says that 3 level 5 HQs will give more alliances than 2 level 5s and a level 3. That would contradict the above.

Shoaulin says if you take the normal value of the highest level HQ and add 1/3 of the values for the rest and always round up(unless you get a whole number) it works.
